What do you consider to be the top three benefits to social responsibility? I think that if an employer is able to keep their employees engaged that will profit the company as well as the customers that utilize the company’s services. If your employees are happy and feel that they are needed and respected then that will show through the services that they complete on a daily basis. It is important for the employees to provide the best services possible to keep customers loyal to the company. If the company has loyal consumers then the company can rely on them coming back for continued services and also rely on them referring new customers to the company. The loyal customers for the company will also provide positive public attention. If the customers are happy then they will express that publicly on multiple forums that are available to them. So, the biggest challenge to any company is to keep people happy. Happy employees make for happy customers and then good reviews in the public from both employees and customers.

How does your organization implement social responsibility initiatives?

Currently, there are not a lot of happy people where I work and I think that my company is failing its employees daily by not addressing the concerns of employees. There are a lot of current employees that are actively looking for jobs elsewhere and the company feels that changing the way things are instead of fixing the problems. I know that I brought to the attention of the executive committee some of the staff’s concerns and simply I was told if they aren’t happy, they can go elsewhere. So, the current issues we have will continue to be issues and the staff turn around will continue until there is a change within the executive members.
